The Diverse Heat Network Board will be made up of individuals from each member organisation. The Board will be responsible for deciding on actions which help to deliver the vision and objectives of the group.
Energy Group Director, Buro Happold
James joined Buro Happold in March 2005, initially specialising in sustainability and alternative technologies. After a period developing energy utility infrastructure planning and design capability in our Infrastructure team, James joined the Energy team in 2016. He is now the UK Energy Group Director.
CFO, Vital Energi Group
Cécile is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in financial leadership roles across various industries. With a strong global background, she has successfully navigated the complexities of both public and private sectors, making her a valuable asset to the Vital Energi Group of Companies as the Group CFO.
Chief Executive, The ADE
Lily is the Chief Executive of the Association for Decentralised Energy, working closely with the ADE team, members and key stakeholders to promote the sustainable development of the decentralised energy sector in the UK.
Head of Public Sector, Triple Point Investment Management
Ken has been at the forefront of the Public Sector leasing industry for more than 20 years; first in the capacity of adviser to several of the largest NHS Trusts and Local Authorities and then as an agent to a number of UK and European banks and a leading residual value insurer.
Managing Director, FairHeat
As FairHeat’s Founder and Managing Director, Gareth works closely with both the New Build division of the business, overseeing project support services, and with the Operations side of the business, with an active involvement in the improvement of heat network performance.

Charlotte has 20 years experience in low carbon energy working in consultancy, strategy and delivery roles within the private sector, local government and the civil service.
Head of Business Operations, Vattenfall
Chris has been working in the field of sustainability for 10 years. He started out working in consultancy and now works for an ESCo, delivering low carbon heating.
Diverse Heat Network Champions
The Board members will be supported by named champions from each organisation. While the Board will provide priority areas and resources to achieve the strategic aims of the DHN, the champions will take a lead on the implementation and delivery of initiatives.
Associate Director, Buro Happold
Adam is an Associate Director in Buro Happold’s Energy Team and has been working in the District Heating sector for more than 8 years, involved with the engineering design and delivery of low carbon district energy networks.
Policy Lead, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
Billy is a policy lead in Hydrogen and industrial carbon capture at BEIS, after previously working in the heat networks market development team at BEIS on initiatives such as the heat network skills programme and the market transformation commitments (MTCs).
Marketing Manager, FairHeat
Tala is a Marketing & Advertising expert with over 8 years of corporate and agency experience supervising and managing complex mandates for leading organizations across the Middle East and select jurisdictions in Europe & Africa. Tala started her career in the automotive industry working for Ferrari, she moved on to work in several industries including Retail, Advertising, Industrial, Power Generation, Health and Beauty, and Technology.
Well-Being and Operations Manager, The ADE
Alix joined the DHN in 2022. She works as the Well-Being and Operations Manager at the ADE. She supports the ADE’s vision of a local, efficient, low carbon energy system by ensuring the ADE’s office and working environments and processes are excellent, supporting all teams to
Trainee Energy & Commercial modeller, Vital
Millie is a Trainee Energy and Commercial Modeller at Vital Energi responsible for creating complex multi-technology energy models that determine the optimum combination of generation technologies to help clients across the UK on their decarbonisation journey.
Heat Network Consultant, Buro Happold
Chloe is an energy engineer, working on the decarbonisation of the heat sector, designing low-carbon systems to heat our buildings.
Proposals Manager, Vital Energi Group
Gemma is the Proposals Manager for Vital Energi, responsible for submitting bids, tenders and proposals to prospective and existing clients across the UK. Gemma leads a team of fabulous individuals who set out to pull together the best winning bids. Gemma has more than 20 years’ experience of working with public sector clients, preparing quality bid documents and proposals and engaging stakeholders.
Diversity & Culture Manager, Vattenfall
Meike (she/her) is the Diversity and Culture Manager at Vattenfall Heat UK. Part of her role is to facilitate the Board and also the Champions group. As a DEI and Workplace Culture Consultant, Meike has always been passionate about driving positive cultural change and advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Bindi has worked in the energy sector for over 13 years. It's been a varied career so far! Starting in a small consultancy working on energy efficiency and fuel poverty, before moving to work in a local authority to focus on sustainability in the built environment.
